David Glynn was educated at Ampleforth College in Yorkshire and did his Articles of Clerkship with a law firm in Brighton, Sussex.

David was admitted as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court in July 1965 and became an assistant solicitor at the Lincoln¡¯s Inn law firm, Charles Russell & Company. He became a Partner in Charles Russell & Company in February 1969 and was admitted to the equity Partnership of the firm in 1971.

David was instructed in a major matrimonial finance multi-jurisdictional dispute in 1975 and was sent out to Hong Kong to supervise the Hong Kong lawyers¡¯ preparation for the matrimonial finance hearing. In the course of those proceedings, he met Gordon Hampton and Michael Winter on a plane to the USA where he was flying to see the Chairman of a major Hong Kong company. The result was that David accepted an offer of Partnership and joined the then firm of Gordon Hampton and Winter in December 1975.

David was admitted in Hong Kong in November 1975 and in Victoria, Australia, in 1980. He also became a Notary Public in 1982.

In 1984, David was made Senior Partner of Hampton, Winter and Glynn on Gordon Hampton¡¯s retirement to the Bar. David has been Senior Partner since that date. He has specialised in major matrimonial finance matters and been involved in many multi-jurisdictional disputes in Hong Kong, the UK, Australia, Singapore and other jurisdictions.

David has had a rich and varied career spanning over 40 years, from 1965 to the present date. In 1968, he was appointed Solicitor to the Tribunal of Enquiry into the riots in Gibraltar conducted by the British Home Office in August of that year.

In the course of litigation in Hong Kong, in the first major case he handled, he obtained the first worldwide maraeva injunction in a matrimonial matter which brought about a swift settlement to the financial proceedings in which he was involved.
