Jean-Yves Toullec offers the highly unusual combination of being qualified in both Hong Kong and France (as well as England and Wales).  He joined Hampton, Winter and Glynn as a consultant in 2008

 

Jean-Yves provides a source of expertise for French companies investing in Hong Kong and China, and Hong Kong enterprises seeking guidance on the French and European legal systems. 

 

He also serves the Hong Kong French expatriate community, providing advice on Hong Kong and international legal issues.  He writes a monthly legal column on Hong Kong law in the local French press.

 

Jean-Yves is one of the founding partners of CRTD et Associés, a leading French law firm specialising in civil and commercial litigation.  Through 35 years of practice he has acquired extensive experience of numerous aspects of French law, especially in the field of commercial law and enforcement of judgment debts.

 

His deep interest in Asia has led him, since 1992, to undertake regular trips to China and South East Asian countries such as Vietnam, where he has been actively involved in a non-profit organisation providing training in law.

 

Jean-Yves is past President of the French section of the Franco-British Lawyers Society, dedicated to acquainting the professionals of both jurisdictions with the respective legal institutions and practices. 

 

He is a member of the Inter-Pacific Bar Association, the French Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong and the British Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong.

 

Jean-Yves was admitted to the Paris Bar in 1975, as a solicitor in England and Wales in 1997 and in Hong Kong in 2006.
